Airport Passenger Traffic Increase - July 14, 2009
Passenger traffic at the Charlottetown Airport was up 1.2% in the second quarter of 2009 compared to the same period in 2008, reports the Charlottetown Airport Authority. Year‐to‐date passenger traffic to the end of June is also up 3.3% compared to the same period as last year.
"We are pleased to see the traffic at the Charlottetown Airport is holding strong," noted CEO, Doug Newson. "The economy has impacted air traffic both nationally and regionally, so it is encouraging to see positive year to date results for the Island."
This summer, Islanders can fly direct from Charlottetown to Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Detroit, Boston and New York City by carriers Air Canada, WestJet, Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
